The Studio, Frogtown
Six people,
a few rooms a year
We keep the practice small on purpose. Every project is drawn, detailed, and walked by the same hands from the first visit to the day you move back in.
Inside The Studio
A workshop more than an office
Our room in Frogtown holds a long table, a wall of drawings, and shelves of oak, plaster, linen, brass, and stone. Clients sit at the same table the drawings are made on.
One team, start to finish
The people who sit with you at the first meeting are the same people who draw the joinery and stand on site during install. Nothing is handed to a junior once the contract is signed.
Drawn before it is bought
Every elevation, reveal, and threshold is resolved on paper first. Fewer decisions are made under pressure on site, which is where budgets usually go quiet and then loud.
Built by people we know
A small circle of Los Angeles fabricators, plasterers, and finish carpenters we have worked with for years. We specify what they can genuinely build, at a price they will honour.
How A Project Runs
The shape of a typical year
Scope, site, and permitting move these dates. The order never changes, and you always know which stage you are standing in.
- Week oneConsultation and site visitAn hour on your site or at our Frogtown studio. We look at the plans, the light, and the way you actually use the space.
- Weeks two to sixConcept and palettePlan options, a spatial direction, and a material box you can hold. Approvals happen in daylight, on site, not on a screen.
- Months two to fourDrawings and detailingFull documentation: elevations, joinery, lighting, and a finish schedule the trades can build from without guesswork.
- Through constructionSite and fabricationWeekly site attendance, workshop visits, and shop drawing review. We answer the questions before they become variations.
- Final weeksInstall and handoverFurniture, styling, and the final walk, followed by a written record of every finish, fixture, and supplier in the house.
A full residential interior, drawn and delivered by the studio.
Illustrative schedule
The palette behind every stage is set out in full, from how a slab is chosen to how a floor is oiled after the first year.
